The average operating rate of die-casting zinc alloy manufacturers was 49.63% last week, up 11.63 percentage points from a week earlier. In terms of raw material inventory, some companies needed to replenish their stocks after the holidays. That, combined with dip buying, grew raw material stocks. Most companies resumed production after holidays last week, driving a significant increase in operating rates. In terms of orders, there has been little improvement in real estate-related orders. Purchases of zinc alloys by end-user companies such as hardware and sanitary ware were still lukewarm. Notably, the recent orders for clothing zippers and luggage accessories improved thanks to the peak season, improving orders at some alloy manufacturers. Operating rates will rise last week on the back of stockpiling for finished production inventories.
