Global blast furnace pig iron production in the H1 of 2023 will increase by 0.9% year-on-year

According to the statistics of the World Iron and Steel Association, the production of blast furnace pig iron in 37 countries and regions in the world in the first half of 2023 will be 658.8 million mt, a year-on-year increase of 0.9%. In 2022, the production of blast furnace pig iron in these 37 countries and regions will account for about 98% of the world's production.

【SMM Steel】Turkey imported 6.59 million tonnes of steel scrap in January-April 2026, up 0.4% year-on-year, with total import value reaching approximately $2.5 billion. The United States overtook the Netherlands as Turkey's largest supplier, with shipments rising 34% to about 1.4 million tonnes. By contrast, imports from the Netherlands fell 26.6% to just over 861,000 tonnes, though the Netherlands and the United Kingdom remained among Turkey's key suppliers.
