SHANGHAI, May 23 (SMM) – Coal arrivals at Chinese ports dropped 10.6% on a weekly basis to 8.12 million mt last week. Among them, arrivals across the 11 major ports in China were 3.79 million mt, down 10.3% on a weekly basis, and arrivals at Guangzhou Port were 1.1 million mt, up 26.0% and accounting for 14% of total arrivals.
Global coal shipments rose 1.4% WoW to 27.99 million mt. Among them, shipments from seven major ports were 11.904 million mt, an increase of 4.8% from the previous week, and the total shipments from Newcastle Port in Australia were 3.532 million mt, an increase of 28.3% and accounting for 13% of the total shipments.
