SHANGHAI, Apr 27 (SMM) - The PMI for the transport infrastructure industry stood at 51.91 in April, up 0.58 point month on month and 5.18 points year on year. The seasonally-adjusted composite index came in at 49.19, an increase of 4.69 points MoM and 5.42 points YoY. The index for production stood at 53.14, up 1.95 points on a monthly basis and 8.93 points on a yearly basis. The index for new orders dipped 0.76 point month on month, but rose 2.89 points year on year to 52.6. Transport infrastructure companies kept 14.02 days of raw material inventories on average in April, up 0.03 day MoM. The number of days of raw material inventories is for reference only as the survey sample may have changed.
As impact from weather and other factors has faded, transport infrastructure projects across the country have basically started, and the number of employees has also increased. The number of new urban rail transit projects increased significantly. The financial situation of most enterprises was relatively stable. Most enterprises restocked on demand to ensure sufficient cash flows and to avoid risks stemming from volatile raw material prices.
