SHANGHAI, Apr 13 (SMM) - The average operating rate is estimated at 75.02% in April, down 3.85 percentage points MoM, but up 4.23 percentage points YoY. Some companies said their orders had begun to decrease in late March as the recovery of downstream demand was unsustainable. It is expected that orders from the motor industry will weaken. The release of demand in advance after copper prices plummeted in mid-March will also weigh on the operating rates in April.
Notes: SMM surveyed 45 producers with a combined capacity of 1.94 million mt/year.
