Most Iron Ore Mines in Hunan May Not Obtain Government Approval to Re-Open until H2 2023

SHANGHAI, Apr 10 (SMM) – In March, the capacity utilisation rates of mines in Hunan were flat from the previous month. Most of the local mines remain closed and may be unable to obtain government approval to re-open until the second half of this year. There are only a few large and medium-sized mines in Hunan. Local mines have not been allowed to operate over the past two years, unless they meet the standards of green mines. The capacity utilisation rates in this province are unlikely to improve noticeably in the foreseeable future.
