The yen is re-emerging as the market's preferred currency haven after banking crises in the U.S. and Switzerland damaged the dollar and franc's status as safe-haven assets in turbulent times, signalling a change in course for the currency.
The yen has emerged as the world's best-performing major currency this month, making it the next big forex play for the likes of DWS Group and Morgan Stanley.
Just a few months ago, the yen needed support from policymakers to recover from 30-year lows.
