On March 15, Gotion Hi-Tech (002074) and Japan Edison Power reached a strategic cooperation agreement that the two companies will jointly tap into the Japanese energy storage and recycling market.
With the development of global renewable energy and the revision of Japan's "Electricity Business Law" in May 2022, the development of Japan's large-scale energy storage battery industry has ushered in new opportunities.
According to the agreement, during the cooperation period, the two parties will implement market strategies based on market demand. The planned sales target for the first year is 1 GWh, which will be increased to 2 GWh per year from the second year onwards. Gotion High-Tech will provide batteries, modules and BMS, etc. Edison Energy will be responsible for Japanese energy storage customer management, EPC services, energy storage system operation and maintenance, and other market-side services.
