In response to Tesla's announcement that it will not use rare earth materials in its next generation permanent magnet motor, Rising Nonferrous Metals said that the most advanced crystal boundary technology could only reduce the use of medium and heavy rare earth like dysprosium and terbium by 50-70% so far. The company added that Tesla did not mention other substitutes or solutions, and neither are there any major technological breakthroughs in the industry that could replace rare earth. Rising Nonferrous Metals believes that the product efficiency may not reach standards, if no rare earth is used at all
