SHANGHAI, Mar 2 (SMM) - The 39 steel makers in China planned to produce a total of 13.69 million mt of HRC in February, down 542,000 mt or 3.81% from the actual output in January.
In terms of daily average, the number of days in February is 3 days less than that in January. The planned average daily output of commercial hot-rolled products in February was about 488,900 mt, an increase of 29,800 mt or 6.50% compared with the average daily output of 459,100 mt in January.
In February, the average daily production schedule for HRC at domestic steel mills increased slightly compared with January. The increase in exports was more significant relative to domestic trade, mainly because the profit of exports was higher than that of domestic sales and domestic demand will not recover any time soon.
