SHANGHAI, August 23 (SMM) - Customs data showed that China's imports of ferronickel in July were 387,400 mt, which has dropped sharply for two consecutive months, but it is still higher than in the same period last year.
Imports from Indonesia fell significantly, down 16% month-on-month to 346,900 mt.
At present, domestic NPI inventories are in a surplus, forcing many NPI factories to reduce production.
Recently, Indonesian officials said that Indonesia, the world's largest nickel producer, may impose tariffs on nickel exports this year. It is reported that the export tariffs will mainly target NPI and ferronickel. In the future, it is necessary to pay attention to whether it will affect the import of ferronickel and NPI.
