On February 16, 2022, Li Jun, deputy director of Jiangxi Provincial Department of Ecological Environment, Yu Zishui, deputy director of the Office of the Provincial Commissioner of Ecological Environment in Gannan, and his entourage went to South China rare Earth Group to investigate the development of rare earth industry and the protection of ecological environment. Xie Zhihong, member of the standing Committee of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of China rare Earth Group and Chairman of South China rare Earth Group, accompanied the investigation.

The research team visited the exhibition hall of South China rare Earth Group, the pilot plant area of the National Engineering and Technology Research Center for efficient Development and Utilization of Ionic rare Earth Resources, and the pilot test line of medium blue rare earth luminescent materials, and listened to the introduction of the development of the group's rare earth industry. the in-situ leaching model of ionic rare earth and the pilot production line of phosphor were visited.

After visiting the factory area, the research team and his party had a discussion with the leaders of the group and the heads of relevant departments. Xie Zhihong, chairman of China South rare Earth Group, and Li Zhuxing, general manager of China South rare Earth Group, respectively introduced and reported to the research group on the establishment process of China rare Earth Group, the basic situation of South China rare Earth Group enterprises, and the group's ecological and environmental protection work in recent years. Deputy Director Li Jun fully affirmed the group's achievements in ecological and environmental protection work in recent years, and asked the group to deeply understand the spiritual essence, core essentials, and practical requirements of Xi Jinping's ecological civilization thought, and resolutely support the "two establishment." further enhance the "four consciousness", strengthen the "four self-confidence", and achieve the "two maintenance". Implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions and the CPC Central Committee's policy decisions and arrangements to the letter, adhere to the concept that "Green Water and Green Mountains are Jinshan and Silver Mountains", adhere to scientific pollution control, accurate pollution control, and pollution control according to law, and strive to promote the green, high-quality, and leapfrog development of rare earth industry in Jiangxi Province with higher standards, greater efforts, and more concrete measures.

Yang Shaojun, inspector of the Provincial Department of Ecological Environment, Lai Changhao, director of the Department of regulations and Standards, Zhou Shaohua, director of the Emergency investigation Center, Lv Xuhua, a fourth-grade researcher of the Department of regulations and Standards, Wang Yan, deputy secretary-general of Ganzhou Municipal Government, Fu Xiaoxin, party secretary and director of Ganzhou Ecological Environment Bureau, Deng Zhiyong, party member and deputy director of Ganzhou Ecological Environment Bureau, and heads of relevant departments of the group, participated in the research activity.

New 1.8 km Rare Earth Target Discovered in Greenland with Low Uranium Content
Energy Transition Minerals has discovered a new 1.8 km-long target in southern Greenland, with characteristics similar to the Kvanefjeld rare earth deposit but with uranium content below the prohibition threshold of 0.01% set by the Greenland government. Last year, the company identified 10 new targets within the Kvanefjeld license area, where rock chip sampling returned total rare earth oxide (TREO) grades of up to 3.97%, with high dysprosium and terbium contents. As climate change reduces permanent snow and ice cover, making previously inaccessible areas reachable, the company has also delineated a new-type volcanic rhyolite anomaly that differs from conventional fenite alteration targets. Energy Transition Minerals is currently seeking to renew the Kvanefjeld license.

USAR Launches Heavy Rare Earth Hydrometallurgy Plant in Colorado, Aims for Q3 2026 Oxide Production
US Rare Earths (USAR) has started operating its heavy rare earth hydrometallurgy demonstration plant in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, and plans to produce separated oxides for the first time in Q3 2026. USAR said the plant will produce separated heavy rare earth oxides, including dysprosium, terbium and yttrium. Quantity details were not disclosed. The company said the Wheat Ridge facility is fully automated and equipped with instruments for real-time process monitoring in all production operations. The plant processes three raw materials simultaneously, including ore from USAR's Round Top project in Texas, ore from the Serra Verde Pela Ema mine in Brazil, and magnet scrap.
