In September, a series of eye-catching data on new energy vehicles and power batteries in China means that the electrification of cars in China is much faster than expected. coupled with the rapid rise of the European new energy vehicle market and the start of the American market, the global TWh era may come ahead of schedule in the next two years.

From this point of view, this year, including Ningde era, Fudi Battery, Yiwei Lithium Energy, Guoxuan Hi-Tech, Funeng Technology, Honeycomb Energy, Vision Power, AVIC Lithium, Xin Wanda and other domestic mainstream battery companies to expand production, are well prepared.

According to data from the Power Battery Application Branch, in September this year, the installed capacity of power batteries in the Chinese market was about 15.86GWH, an increase of 141.2% over the same period last year, and from January to September this year, the installed capacity was about 95.26GWH, an increase of 178.8% over the same period last year.

In terms of car production, sales of new energy vehicles in September were 357000, an increase of 148.4% over the same period last year. Ten, sales from January to September were 2.157 million, an increase of 185.3% over the same period last year.

Several trends can be seen from the September data:

1. The annual installed capacity of the Chinese market is expected to be close to 150GWh.

Battery companies, represented by Ningde Times, Fudi Battery and Guoxuan Tech, are constantly expanding the production and marketing ratio of lithium iron phosphate battery. since July, the output and installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate have exceeded ternary batteries for many months in a row. at present, there should be no doubt that the overall installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate exceeds three yuan this year.

3. The Top 10 camp is still in doubt, and Xinwanda suddenly made it into the top 5. In addition to Ningde era, Fudi battery and Guoxuan high-tech position is relatively stable, 4-10 still have some variables, in September Xinwanda suddenly into the top 10, and ranked fifth. AVIC Lithium Power, Honeycomb Energy, Yiwei Lithium Energy, Funeng Technology and Jiewei Power rank relatively stable.

01 the annual installed capacity of the Chinese market to 150GWh "Sucker Punch"

According to the sales situation in previous years, the fourth quarter will be the peak season for new energy vehicle sales, and it will also be the quarter with the largest contribution to the installed capacity of power batteries.

Since April this year, the installed capacity of power batteries has increased month by month, from 9GWH in a single month to 15.86GWh. Even if the installed capacity of 15.86GWh in September is maintained in October, November and December, the annual installed capacity will still exceed that of 140GWh.

A few days ago, the China Automobile Association once again raised this year's new energy vehicle sales forecast, the forecast data from the previous 2.4 million vehicles to 3 million. Sales in the first nine months of this year have reached 2.157 million, which means total sales in the fourth quarter will exceed 840000.

It is worth noting that the Chinese market will actually produce more power batteries this year. Industry data show that from January to September, China's power battery output has reached 134.7 GWH, a cumulative increase of 195.0% over the same period last year. Among them, the output of ternary batteries totaled 62.8 GWh, accounting for 46.6 percent of the total output, an increase of 131.1 percent over the same period last year; and the output of lithium iron phosphate batteries totaled 71.6 percent, accounting for 53.2 percent of the total output, an increase of 291.4 percent over the same period last year.

In a single month, the output in September has reached 23.2GWh. Due to the strong demand downstream, a number of head battery enterprises have maintained a relatively high utilization rate of power battery capacity; at the same time, new projects have also released capacity one after another. If this scale is maintained in the fourth quarter, the annual output will exceed 220GWh.

The reason why there is a large gap between production and installed capacity data is nothing more than the following situations: first, the batteries exported by some enterprises are not included in the domestic installed capacity data statistics. According to battery China, since the beginning of this year, companies such as Ningde era, Yiwei Lithium Energy, Funeng Technology and Guoxuan Hi-Tech have all begun to supply batteries to overseas car companies in large quantities, which are not included in domestic installation statistics. Second, some batteries enter the energy storage, small power (electric light vehicles, power tools) and other markets, but also collected by battery companies in the power battery production data.

02 giant turned to lithium iron phosphate to get rid of ternary installed capacity

In September, the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate battery was about 9075.32MWH, and the installed capacity of ternary battery was about 6764.04MWh. Lithium iron phosphate has been installed more than ternary batteries for three months in a row, and the gap between the two is growing.

Judging from the data from January to September this year, the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate in China is about 45.38 GWH, and the installed capacity of ternary battery is about 49.70GWh.There is still a gap between lithium iron phosphate and ternary battery, but the installed data of lithium iron phosphate in September has already shrugged off three yuan 2.3GWh. and the installed data of lithium iron phosphate in July and August are both more than ternary. It is expected that lithium iron phosphate will shed more ternary batteries in the fourth quarter. Therefore, there is no doubt that the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate exceeds three yuan throughout the year.

The rapid increase in the installation of lithium iron phosphate batteries is mainly due to the large-scale shift by car companies to the use of lithium iron phosphate batteries with higher cost performance and safety in new cars.

Under the influence of car companies, Ningde Times, Fudi Battery, Guoxuan Hi-Tech and other leading enterprises have significantly increased the production capacity of lithium iron phosphate, directly increasing the output and installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate.

Data show that in September this year, Ningde Times, Fudi Battery and Guoxuan Hi-Tech Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries installed 4757.39MWh, 3042.83MWh and 729.24MWH respectively, while the three enterprises installed ternary batteries 3772.42MWh, 152.97MWh and 69.50MWh respectively in the same period. The installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate in Ningde era has exceeded that of ternary batteries, and almost all of the installed capacity of Fudi battery and Guoxuan Hi-Tech are contributed by lithium iron phosphate, which also supports the two enterprises to rank second and third respectively in China.

It is worth noting that leading enterprises, including Yiwei Lithium Energy, AVIC Lithium Power, Honeycomb Energy and so on, have also laid out lithium iron phosphate battery capacity on a large scale this year, and it is expected that the growth rate of lithium iron phosphate installation will remain high next year.

03 ranking is still variable, Xin Wanda made it into the top 5 this month.

The change of TOP10 installed in September is relatively small, and the top 3 are still Ningde era, Fudi battery and Guoxuan Hi-Tech. Among them, Guoxuan Hi-Tech relies on the recovery of lithium iron phosphate market, and its installed capacity has grown rapidly in recent months, and it surpassed AVIC Lithium in August to squeeze into the top 3, and September is still the third.

AVIC Lithium Power, Honeycomb Energy, Yiwei Lithium Energy, Funeng Technology and Jie Wei Power are still frequent customers in TOP10 this year, with relatively stable installed capacity and ranking.

Xinwanda is the "dark horse" of installed capacity in September, with the installed capacity of 238.03MWh into the top 10, and ranked fifth.

It is worth noting that the overall installed scale of No. 5-10 is relatively small, which also means that this part of the variable is relatively large.

What needs to be added is that at present, many battery companies, including Yiwei Lithium Energy and Funeng Technology, are directly exported to overseas markets, which are not included in the installed capacity of the Chinese market.
