SHANGHAI, Oct 9 (SMM) - Sulphuric acid prices consolidated in September amid the policies and the tight supply of sulphur. The supply and demand led by Jiangsu weakened. However, the smelting acid enterprises were less affected by the policies, and only a large smelter in central China reduced the amount of ore invested amid the environmental protection inspections. The output of sulphuric acid is expected to decline slightly.

The chemical market has a greater impact on the demand. The sulphuric acid market will diverge. The market price in south China was around 1,000 yuan/mt as the demand in central, south and southwest China is unlikely to increase, but the price is expected to trend lower. The supply and demand declined in Jiangsu and Zhejiang due to the dual control policies. The situation across producers is different. The price fluctuations are expected to be relatively flexible. The prices are expected to decline as producers resumed production from maintenance in Shandong. The domestic sulphuric acid prices are likely to trend lower.

At the same time, global crude oil inventories have continued to decline. With the gradual and effective control of the overseas pandemic, global economy is recovering. Domestic sulphuric acid prices are expected to basically peak.
