On the evening of August 19th, Xingyuan material (300568) released its semi-annual report for 2021, saying that the company's operating income in the first half of the year was 831 million yuan, an increase of 143.65% over the same period last year. The net profit belonging to shareholders of listed companies was 112 million yuan, up 56.39% from the same period last year.

The Battery Network noted that in the first half of the year, Xingyuan material's business income mainly came from the sales of lithium-ion battery diaphragm products, which sold more than 500 million square meters of lithium-ion battery diaphragm products, further increasing its cooperation with foreign lithium-ion battery manufacturers such as South Korea's LG Chemical, Samsung SDI, Japan's Murata, and SAFT. And to Ningde Times, BYD, Hefei Guoxuan, AVIC Lithium, Yiwei Lithium Energy, Tianjin Lishen, Xin Wanda and other mainstream lithium-ion battery manufacturers bulk supply of lithium-ion battery separators, the company continues to improve the dry-wet diaphragm, coated diaphragm production capacity, production, continue to expand the company's market share.

In addition to actively developing customers, Xingyuan material production capacity is also gradually released in the first half of the year:

The company set up a wholly-owned subsidiary Changzhou Xingyuan in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province to implement the "wet separator project with an annual output of 360 million square meters of lithium-ion battery". The construction period of the project is 33 months. the construction is divided into two phases: the first phase and the second phase each have an annual output of 180 million square meters of lithium-ion battery wet separator. Up to now, the project has been completed and supplied to customers in large quantities.

Xingyuan material also set up a wholly-owned subsidiary Jiangsu Xingyuan to implement the "Super coating Factory" project in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province. the total construction period of the project is 36 months and is divided into two phases, among which, in the first phase of the project, 8 dry diaphragm production lines and 30 coated diaphragm production lines will be built, with an annual production capacity of 400 million square meters for lithium-ion batteries and 600 million square meters for high-performance lithium-ion batteries. In the second phase of the project, 20 new coated diaphragm production lines will be built to form a high-performance lithium-ion battery coated diaphragm with an annual processing capacity of 400 million square meters. So far, the construction of the "Super coating Factory" project has progressed smoothly and has been supplied to customers.

In addition, Xingyuan material is also actively laying out new production capacity, laying the foundation for the development of domestic and foreign markets:

On March 31st, Xingyuan material announced that it plans to invest no more than 2 billion yuan to build a production plant in Svista Industrial Zone in Eskilstuna, Sweden. when the new factory is completed in 2025, it will become the European headquarters of Xingyuan material. The plant will be one of the largest of its kind in Europe, and the plant in Eskilstuna will provide a diaphragm for Northvolt's superfactory in Skellefte and later for other European battery manufacturers.

On May 28th, Xingyuan material announced that the company plans to invest 10 billion yuan to build wet diaphragm and coated diaphragm with an annual output of 3 billion square meters in Nantong Economic and technological Development Zone. The main body of the project is a newly established wholly-owned subsidiary. At present, Xingyuan material (Nantong) New material Technology Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary set up by the company, has completed the industrial and commercial registration procedures and obtained the business license issued by the Administrative examination and approval Bureau of Nantong Economic Development District. The company said it aims to start construction of the first and second phases of the project by the end of September 2021.

In the semiannual report, Xingyuan material also analyzed that, from a global perspective, the global market share of lithium battery diaphragms in the past was mainly occupied by Japan, the United States, South Korea and China. With the breakthroughs and capital investment in the preparation process of domestic enterprises in recent years, domestic lithium-ion battery diaphragm products have gradually entered the overseas market, and the market share of Japanese, American and Korean diaphragm enterprises has declined significantly. Moreover, in recent years, the production expansion of overseas leading diaphragm suppliers such as Japan Asahi Kasei, Dongfang Chemical, Sumitomo Chemical, Ubu, South Korea SKI, etc., has been slow, while China's diaphragm enterprises have expanded faster, and the market share of domestic manufacturers has further increased. Due to the increasingly mature technology of domestic lithium-ion battery separators and more cost advantages, the advantages of global lithium diaphragms will be further transferred to Chinese enterprises in the future.
