PT Bintan Alumina Indonesia: has built an alumina refinery with a capacity of 1 million tons in the Alambatang Special Economic Zone.

According to Santoni, president of, PT Bintan Alumina Indonesia (BAI), the construction of an alumina refinery with an annual capacity of 1 million tons in the (Galang Batang) special economic zone in Kalambatang has been completed. On June 15th, Santoni said that the results of the production test were very good, and the company was ready for full production in June.

Santoni added that the company is now building another alumina refinery with an annual capacity of 1 million tons. The development progress is 30%. If all goes well, the project will be completed at the beginning of 2022 and production trials will begin.

PT Bintan Alumina Indonesia (BAI) plans to export for the first time in July 2021. A total of 25000 tons of alumina powder will be shipped to Malaysia through the port of Garang Batang in the special economic zone.
