Primary lead smelters operating rates fell to 60% this week

SHANGHAI, May 28 (SMM) — Operating rates across primary lead smelters in Henan, Hunan and Yunnan provinces dropped 1.3 percentage points from the previous week to 60% in the week ended May 28, showed an SMM survey.

Henan Jinli returned to normal production this week; Jiyuan  Hongyang cut output slightly this week, and is expected to return to normal production in June; Hunan Huaxin operated normally this week and planned to step up production by 100-200 mt in June; Shuikoushan Jinxin resumed production this week and planned to operate normally in June; Yunnan Zhenxing and Tongfu reduced output due to local power consumption restrictions; Yunnan Lead Oxide suspended production for maintenance and will recover in mid-June; Chihong, Mengzi and Gejiu Chuangyuan were barely affected.
