On February 24, the official WeChat of Changsha Yuhua Economic Development Zone said that in the BYD production workshop in Yuhua Economic Development Zone, D1, a new energy passenger vehicle dressed in green fruit war armour, passed the offline test at a speed of 60 seconds each. nearly 400 vehicles can be offline every day.
D1 is a custom model jointly created by BYD and DiDi, which is open for Didi registered ride-hailing drivers. The car was officially launched at the "Didi Open Day" held by DiDi on November 16, 2020.
Different from the traditional ride-hailing on Didi platform, the "customized" feature of D1 is mainly "remotely controlled" for passengers, that is, passengers can adjust the air conditioning temperature and air volume in the car through Didi App before getting on the bus. When passengers call D1, the platform will send a rainbow color to match the welcoming vehicle, and the "rainbow light" makes it easier for passengers to find a car.
In addition, D1 uses BYD blade battery technology and is equipped with permanent magnet Synchronize motor with a maximum power of 100kW and a mileage of about 418km.
Shortly after Didi released D1, on December 25, 2020, "Changsha release" reported that the customized ride-hailing D1 was officially put into production at the BYD base in Changsha and delivered the first batch of new cars, and the first D1 models were first put into operation in Changsha. Then it will be extended to the whole country one after another, with an estimated annual output of more than 100000 vehicles, with an additional output value of more than 10 billion yuan.
According to Didi's plan, Didi will release D2, a replacement of D1, in 2025, when it will popularize 1 million D2s and be equipped with autopilot systems. By 2030, the DX released by Didi will no longer have a cockpit and will be fully autopilot.
