Recently, a group of photos of the 2020 internal commendation of BYD battery released by a certain official account show that two designated projects have been awarded outstanding awards, one of which is the Hyundai project team. However, the articles related to the official account have been deleted.

According to APP, Fudi Battery was founded in 2019, and its business scope includes: research and development, production and sales of lithium-ion batteries and materials. Equity penetration shows that the company is 100% controlled by BYD.

In addition, by 2025, Hyundai will invest 60 trillion won (US $56 billion) to strengthen its line-up of electric vehicles and compete with GM, Volkswagen and others.

Moreover, in August last year, Hyundai upgraded the IONIQ from a single model to an independent pure electric car brand, opening an "acceleration mode" in the field of new energy vehicles.

Of more concern to the industry is that Hyundai Motor Group may reach a cooperation agreement with Apple on pure electric vehicles and carry out contract manufacturing through its Kia Motor. Although the news has not yet been confirmed by the parties, the foreign media reported on February 1 that Hyundai executives questioned the cooperation of OEM Apple to a certain extent supported the rumors that the two sides had been in contact.

As far as BYD is concerned, with the release of "blade battery" capacity, in addition to meeting its own needs, it is also gradually increasing external supply. On January 29, the Financial Associated Press exclusively confirmed that BYD will supply "blade batteries" to FAW and Red Flag and will be loaded in the second half of this year. In addition, BYD Power Battery potential partners include Audi, Porsche and the mysterious "No. 1 customer" and so on.

At present, BYD battery has six major production bases in Chongqing, Shenzhen, Xi'an, Qinghai, Changsha and Guiyang. Among them, Fudi Battery Chongqing Factory is the first factory of "Blade Battery" in the world.

Fudi Chongqing factory "blade battery" currently has a production capacity of 20GWhh, and will soon add 15GWhto 35GWh.But the first production line of "blade battery" in Changsha base was officially put into production at the end of last year, with an annual capacity of 20GWh designed. In addition to the above three factories, the Fudi project in Bengbu, with a total investment of 6 billion yuan, has also started construction, and the first phase is planned for annual production capacity 10GWh.

The total installed capacity of BYD's power battery and energy storage battery for new energy vehicles in December 2020 is about 2.067GWH, and the total installed capacity for the whole year is about 12.598GWh.
