SMM believes that lithium batteries are used more and more widely, such as energy storage, 3C digital, electric two-wheelers, power tools, e-cigarettes, electric ships and so on. At present, the electric vehicle market has basically been scraped by the power battery giants, the threshold to enter is more difficult, other battery enterprises basically choose to subdivide the field to enter. For example, Tianneng shares and Chaowei Group enter the electric two-wheeler market, and Nandu Power supply develops better in the energy storage market. Enterprises do not rigidly adhere to the lead-acid battery market, expand other businesses in many ways, and the development of the lithium battery market is expected in the future.

SMM7: with the rapid development of the new energy vehicle industry, the demand for lithium batteries is expanding, and the production scale of lithium batteries in China has also increased. According to data, China produced 15.722 billion lithium-ion batteries in 2019, an increase of 12.40% over the same period last year. By the end of January to May 2020, China's lithium-ion battery production reached 5.5 billion, a cumulative decrease of 1.2%. According to SMM research, the total demand for lithium-ion batteries in China's new energy vehicle industry will reach 61.9GWH in 2019. Due to the impact of the new crown epidemic in 2020, the GWH, from January to May 2020 reached 12.8%, down 44.35% from the same period last year.

The growing scale of the lithium battery market attracts more and more outsiders to enter the market for food. Many lead battery giants have entered the lithium battery industry, such as Camel Co., Ltd. in 2019 to build a new 48V lithium battery production line, capacity will be released in an orderly manner; Tianneng Power actively participated in lithium battery technology research and development and industrialization projects.

Celestial energy power

From 2016 to 2019, Tianneng continued to invest in the field of lithium batteries, with a total R & D investment of 127 million yuan. At the same time, the company actively introduces lithium-ion battery machinery and equipment and optimizes the production line, with a total purchase and conversion amount of more than 450 million from 2016 to 2019, and the current production capacity is close to 2GWh. In 2019, Tianneng shares also established a joint venture with (SAFT), a subsidiary of the French Total Group, to continue to carry out technical research and development in the field of lithium-ion batteries, improve the performance and competitiveness of lithium battery products, and further expand the scale of lithium battery business.

Tianneng Power's new energy battery business achieved an operating income of 627 million yuan in 2019. The company actively invests in lithium battery technology research and development and industrialization project, adopts the technology path of cylindrical and soft package battery with ternary and lithium iron phosphate as the mainstream, and has mastered a variety of high-performance cathode materials and high safety diaphragm application technology, through a more comprehensive technology system to effectively improve the specific energy, charge and discharge rate and cycle life of lithium battery products.

Recently, according to the announcement of Tianneng Power, the listing of Tian Neng Co., Ltd., a division of Tianneng Co., Ltd., has been accepted by the Shanghai Stock Exchange. IPO of Tianneng Co., Ltd. plans to raise 3.595 billion yuan for green intelligent manufacturing technology renovation project, high-energy power lithium battery cell and PACK project, etc.

Camel shares

In 2019, the company built a new 48V lithium battery production line, and the production capacity will be released in an orderly manner; the 48V start-stop products have been designated for 5 Nissan models, some of which will be mass-produced in March 2020; and the 12V start-stop project has completed development and sample delivery. initially passed the technical evaluation of GM, Fiat and logo Citroen and carried out a close docking with BMW and Daimler.

Nandu power supply

On June 4, Nandu Power said that it successively won the tender for China Mobile and China Tower 2020 communication lithium iron phosphate battery products, further consolidating the company's dominant position in the field of communication backup batteries. Nine years ago, Nandu Power successfully developed the first generation of backup lithium battery after communication, and took the lead in overseas application. By the end of 2019, the business of communication backup lithium battery has expanded to more than 40 countries and regions, and the cumulative global sales have exceeded 2GWh.

On June 20, the annual 6GWh new energy lithium battery project and lithium battery recycling project built by Anhui Netcom Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Nandu Power, started work in Tianying Science and Technology Park, Jieshou City.

With the rapid development of new energy vehicles and lithium energy storage industry, the company actively distributes the closed loop of lithium power industry. Based on the existing recycling system and the technological, production and market advantages of the environment-friendly resource reuse industry, the company's waste lithium-ion battery and new materials recycling project is about to start construction, and the first phase of 25000 tons of waste lithium-ion battery recycling project is expected to be completed in 2021.

Chaowei Group

Chaowei Group, as one of the leaders in the domestic traditional battery field, has continuously strengthened technological research and innovation for many years, and has been leading the innovative development of battery technology. In October 2019, the company officially released this pure lithium manganate battery for electric vehicles. According to the person in charge of the project, Chaowei pure lithium manganate battery has three major characteristics: safety, fierce output, and extreme cold protection. The three characteristics well solve the three pain points of the battery concerned by the society.

Recently, the signing ceremony of the new power lithium battery project in Anyang City, Henan Province was held at the headquarters of Zhejiang Chaowei Group. The main product of the project is Chaowei new lithium manganate battery, which has passed the whole life cycle verification and acupuncture test. with excellent safety performance, it has become a high-quality choice for light electric vehicles, with a market space of hundreds of billions of yuan in the future.

The total investment of the new lithium battery project of Chaowei Group is 10 billion yuan, and the project will be carried out in three phases. after completion, the project will achieve an annual output value of 40 billion yuan, profits and taxes of 6 billion yuan, and nearly tens of thousands of jobs. Form a power industry chain and constantly increase product innovation and new product research and development efforts to build international and diversified enterprise groups.

SMM believes that with the progress of battery technology, lithium batteries are used more and more widely, such as energy storage, 3C digital, electric two-wheelers, power tools, e-cigarettes, electric ships and so on.
