China rare earths exports rebound in Jun as prices grow slower

Exports expanded 9% from May to 3,966.4 mt

SHANGHAI, Jul 15 (SMM) – China’s exports of rare earths rebounded in June, expanding 9% from May to 3,966.4 mt, showed data from China Customs released on Friday July 12.

Chinese rare earth producers recovered exports last month, as prices grew slower after rapid increases in May.

Exports of rare earths in January-June amounted to 23,232.2 mt, down 11.3% from the same period last year, as the trade dispute with the US took its toll.

[SMM Rare Earth News Flash] ASX-listed American Rare Earths announced that it has commenced its 2026 exploration drilling program at the Cowboy State mine area of the Halleck Creek rare earth project in Wyoming. The drilling is at feasibility study level, focusing on the Red Mountain target area with low-cost open-pit mining potential, aimed at providing data support for the definitive feasibility study. The company commissioned Boart Longyear to drill a total of 3,050 meters (10,000 feet) across 19 drill holes, with completion expected by mid-July. Dahrouge Geological Consulting will be responsible for on-site geological logging and sample preparation.
