Clarios, a global leader in low-voltage battery technologies, announced on October 27, 2026, that it plans to acquire Ecobat’s critical mineral recycling and processing facilities in the United States. The transaction is expected to close in early 2027, pending customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. The acquisition includes three recycling facilities located in the City of Industry, California; Indianapolis, Indiana; and Middletown, New York, as well as the Dallas office. Together, these facilities currently process more than 40 million spent batteries annually, primarily to recover critical materials such as lead, tin, and antimony.
