Amerigo Reports 7,711 Tonnes of Copper Production from Tailings in Q3 2026, Achieving 76% of Annual Guidance

Published: Oct 15, 2026 09:20 (GMT+8)
Canadian copper producer Amerigo Resources reported Q3 2026 copper production of 7,711 tonnes (17.0 million pounds) at its Minera Valle Central (MVC) tailings recovery operation in Chile, with a cash cost of US$1.55/lb. Despite heavy rainfall reducing historical tailings processing days, plant availability reached 98.1%, while nine-month copper production totalled approximately 21,863 tonnes, representing 76% of the company's annual guidance of approximately 28,939 tonnes. Year-to-date normalized cash costs averaged US$1.65/lb, approximately 17% below annual guidance, supported by stronger molybdenum by-product credits and higher copper output. Amerigo also confirmed that the October 11 fatal accident at Codelco's El Teniente mine has not affected MVC operations, with its annual copper production guidance remaining unchanged.
