[SMM PV Flash] Thailand Tightens Solar Module Safety Standards, Raising Compliance Requirements for PV Modules

Published: Oct 07, 2026 09:45 (GMT+8)
Thailand has recently tightened safety and quality requirements for crystalline silicon PV modules, requiring products sold in the local market to comply with relevant Thai Industrial Standards and certification requirements. The move is aimed at improving product quality and installation safety as the country’s residential, commercial and industrial, and utility-scale solar markets continue to expand. Stricter regulatory requirements are expected to raise compliance thresholds for both imported and locally manufactured modules, while increasing certification and product management requirements for suppliers entering the Thai market.

[SMM PV Flash] Heliene Launches Up to 410W All-Black Residential Solar Module
North American solar module manufacturer Heliene has launched its 108HC M10 SL All-Black module for the residential rooftop market. The module uses 108 half-cut M10 monocrystalline PERC cells, with power output ranging from 380W to 410W and a maximum module efficiency of 21.0%. It features a glass-backsheet structure and split junction box design, alongside a 25-year product warranty and linear power warranty. As North America’s residential solar market places greater emphasis on module aesthetics, dimensions and rooftop compatibility, manufacturers are continuing to differentiate their product offerings to compete for residential demand.

[SMM PV Flash] Australia’s Utility-Scale Solar Curtailment Falls to 22% in September
Utility-scale solar and wind generation in Australia’s National Electricity Market (NEM) reached 5.44TWh in September 2026, up around 7% year on year. Utility-scale solar generation in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria reached 841GWh, 645GWh and 267GWh, respectively, marking record September levels across all three states. Meanwhile, utility-scale solar curtailment declined to 22% from 26% in September 2025. The continued rollout of large-scale battery storage is helping improve renewable energy absorption, although stronger spring solar output continues to keep curtailment at relatively elevated levels.

[SMM PV Flash] German Startup Morreon Develops AI Platform for Battery Storage Engineering
German engineering startup Morreon is developing an AI-powered engineering platform called Anchor for battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations and other energy infrastructure projects. The platform can process unstructured data from PDFs, CAD files, spreadsheets and project documents, while supporting project layout design, equipment configuration, tendering and schedule management. Engineers will retain final approval over key technical decisions. Morreon also plans to expand the platform into procurement, delivery tracking, construction management and commissioning, as digital tools gain wider adoption in improving engineering efficiency and reducing project development costs across the energy storage sector.
