Italian energy company Enel, through Enel Green Power North America, has completed the acquisition of seven operating solar PV projects in the southern United States. The acquisition agreement was signed in May 2026, and the transaction further expands Enel’s renewable energy asset portfolio in the US market. Enel has continued to invest in US solar assets, including earlier acquisitions of operating projects in Utah and Tennessee, highlighting the ongoing use of asset acquisitions by major energy companies to expand their solar generation portfolios.

US renewable energy company CleanChoice Energy has secured more than US$166 million in financing to advance the Dolan solar project in New York and the Kylertown solar project in Pennsylvania, with capacities of approximately 27MW and 28MW, respectively. The financing package includes a US$105 million construction loan and US$61 million in tax equity investment. Both projects are scheduled to reach commercial operation in 2027. The financing will support project construction and help move additional solar capacity in the US Northeast toward completion and operation.

US utility DTE Energy has completed construction of the 100MW Cold Creek Solar Park in Michigan. Located near Coldwater, the project is part of DTE Energy’s MIGreenPower renewable energy programme, with electricity generated from the facility set to support Ford Motor Company’s manufacturing operations in the state. DTE Energy has also advanced several other large-scale solar projects into commercial operation in 2026, reflecting continued development of utility-scale solar installations across Michigan.
