【SMM Flash News】Boab Raises Sorby Hills Resources by 7% and Signs Binding Mining Services Agreement

Boab Metals updated resources at its Sorby Hills silver-lead project in Western Australia. Resources within the lead and net-smelter-return domains total 50.6 million tonnes, up 7%, grading 3.0% lead, 0.4% zinc and 34 g/t silver. The update covers Bimota, Omega and Norton and excludes recent assays from the 47-hole Phase IX program.

On September 28, Boab also announced a binding mining-services heads of agreement with REGROUP Australia Pty Ltd . Site establishment is scheduled for January 15, 2027, with mining services commencing no later than March 1. Execution of the definitive contract is targeted within two weeks of the heads of agreement.

Altoro Metals Intersects Zinc Mineralization at Guajaraz Project in Spain

Altoro Metals (ASX: ARO) has reported progress in its maiden 1,400m diamond drilling program at the Guajaraz Zinc-Lead-Silver Project in central Spain. The company has completed three drill holes, with G-03 intersecting brown sphalerite veinlets that confirm zinc sulphide mineralization at depth. The program is designed to evaluate carbonate-hosted replacement-style zinc deposits and explore subparallel structures associated with the historical La Unión mine. While G-01 and G-05 remain in progress, G-05 has already encountered gneissic rock displaying intense hydrothermal alteration and low-grade mineralization. Core samples are undergoing systematic logging, with assay results expected within four to six weeks. Altoro is currently refining its drilling strategy to target high-potential zones while simultaneously progressing an application to extend the site's three-year exploration permit. Once G-01 is finalized, the company plans to redeploy one drill rig to its flagship Novales-Udías Project.

Affected by LME, SHFE zinc opened lower with a gap last night [SMM Zinc Morning Comment]

[SMM Zinc Morning Comment] Overnight, the most-traded SHFE zinc 2611 contract opened lower with a gap at 26,440 yuan/mt. At the beginning of the session, SHFE zinc edged down to 26,360 yuan/mt, then consolidated higher to touch a high of 26,500 yuan/mt. It consolidated around the daily average line, pulled back slightly near the close, and finally settled down at 26,435 yuan/mt.
