Sinar Mas Group affiliate PT Inti Mas Bangun Sejahtera (IMBS) has become the new controlling shareholder of Indonesian fibre-optic infrastructure company PT Ketrosden Triasmitra Tbk (IDX: KETR) after completing a voluntary tender offer for 994.44 million shares, equivalent to 35% of KETR, at Rp523 per share, valuing the transaction at approximately Rp520.1 billion. Control has shifted from PT Bahtera Bintang Nusantara, which previously controlled KETR indirectly through PT Fajar Sejahtera Mandiri Nusantara, to IMBS, while PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSSA) becomes KETR’s ultimate beneficial owner. Triasmitra operates terrestrial and submarine fibre-optic infrastructure and related network services, with IMBS citing Indonesia’s growing demand for telecommunications infrastructure and data connectivity as a key rationale for the acquisition.

[SMM Oil & Gas Flash] Criterium Energy Targets October Gas Start as Pipeline Nears Completion
Canada-listed Criterium Energy is targeting October 2026 for the start of natural gas production from its operations in Indonesia as construction of the associated gas pipeline approaches completion. The pipeline will provide the infrastructure needed to commercialize gas from the company’s producing assets, adding a new revenue stream alongside its existing oil production. With pipeline work in its final stages, the company is preparing for initial gas deliveries, supporting further monetization of its Indonesian upstream portfolio and additional domestic gas supply.

[SMM Nickel Flash] Eramet Says EU Carbon Costs Shut Market for Indonesian NPI
French mining group Eramet said Indonesian nickel pig iron (NPI) has effectively lost access to the European market due to its high carbon footprint and the rising cost of carbon in Europe. Indonesia’s NPI industry relies heavily on coal-fired power, resulting in relatively high embedded emissions, while tightening European carbon requirements are increasing the cost disadvantage for carbon-intensive materials. With the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) entering its definitive phase in 2026, carbon intensity is becoming an increasingly important factor in the competitiveness of nickel-containing products and stainless-steel raw materials. Eramet, which has an interest in Indonesia’s Weda Bay Nickel operation, indicated that the widening carbon-cost gap could increasingly shape the destination of Indonesian NPI, reinforcing its concentration in Asian stainless-steel markets.

[SMM Energy Flash] ZE Energy Adds 200 MW/1 GWh Battery Project to Italian Portfolio
French renewable energy developer ZE Energy has acquired a 200 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) project with more than 1 GWh of storage capacity in Italy, further expanding its presence in the country’s rapidly growing energy-storage market. The acquisition strengthens ZE Energy’s Italian development pipeline as the company expands both stand-alone battery and hybrid solar-plus-storage projects across Europe. The large-scale BESS is expected to provide flexibility to Italy’s power system, helping balance variable renewable generation and supporting the country’s broader build-out of storage capacity as solar and wind penetration increases.
