Laurion reported that hole LBX26-112 at Ishkōday in Ontario intersected 6 metres grading 0.83% zinc from 96 metres, including 0.5 metres at 8.47% zinc from 97 metres. The hole tested a gap between earlier holes in the McLeod horizon. Exploration aims to improve geological continuity assessments and support evaluation of a potential maiden mineral resource estimate.

EDM Reports 94.3% Zinc Recovery in Scotia Ore-Sorting Testwork

EDM Resources reported XRF ore-sorting test results for its Scotia Mine in Canada. Including bypass fines, the process rejected 25.2% of original feed mass and retained material grading 19.7% zinc and 18.2% lead, with respective recoveries of 94.3% and 95.6%. The results will inform processing options for an updated pre-feasibility study, subject to further engineering, metallurgical and economic evaluation.

Fundamentals mixed, SHFE zinc to move sideways [SMM zinc morning comment]

[SMM zinc morning comment] Overnight, the most-traded SHFE zinc 2611 contract opened at 26,505 yuan/mt. In early trading, SHFE zinc quickly dipped to 26,415 yuan/mt, then bulls added positions, pushing SHFE zinc up to a high of 26,660 yuan/mt. Subsequently, some bulls took profits and exited, causing SHFE zinc to pull back quickly below the daily average line. It closed down at 26,490 yuan/mt, down 10 yuan/mt, or 0.04%. Trading volume decreased to 59,620 lots, and open interest fell by 2,097 lots to 141,000 lots.
