Secondary Lead Smelter in Northwest China Extends Maintenance, Delays Production Restart to Early October

[Secondary lead production updates] SMM previously reported that a small-to-medium secondary lead smelter in northwest China suspended production due to temporary maintenance and originally planned to resume operations on September 28. According to SMM's latest follow-up, the smelter's maintenance period has been extended, and the resumption of production has been postponed until after the National Day holiday (around October 8).

【Flash | Sivers Targets Over 100 Million Annual InP Laser Capacity】

Sivers Semiconductors announced a $30 million expansion of its indium phosphide (InP) manufacturing facility in Glasgow. Upon completion, the site is expected to support annual production of over 100 million CW DFB lasers. Work will begin in H2 2026, with operations targeted for Q4 2027.
