ProLogium and Mercedes-Benz to Jointly Test Gen4 Solid-State Battery Cells

Published: Sep 28, 2026 12:37 (GMT+8)

On September 24, ProLogium signed an agreement with Mercedes-Benz to jointly test its latest Gen4 battery cells. Mercedes-Benz secured priority access to the cells and will assess their electrical, thermal and safety performance.

The tests will evaluate the technology’s potential suitability for future vehicles. No production model or commercialization schedule has been confirmed. ProLogium is an investee company of EV Advanced Materials.

Solid-State Battery Weekly :Li2S Production Line Construction Accelerates While Cost Contradiction Remains Unresolved
This week, SMM solid-state battery material prices remained weak. Dowstone’s silicon-carbon anode shipped in batches; Ion Energy’s 51Ah automotive-grade solid-state battery went into production; Dongfeng’s solid-state battery mass production was postponed to Q4. Overseas, Factorial partnered with Mitsui Kinzoku, and WeLion’s 150MWh semi-solid-state energy storage project went overseas. The equipment segment has the highest certainty.

All-solid-state batteries have entered an intensive GWh pilot production period, with 2027–2030 as the key window for small-batch vehicle installation. Planned capacity is expected to exceed 1,119 GWh by 2035, but the utilization rate from 2026 to 2030 will be only 1%–15%, indicating a severe demand mismatch, with volume ramp-up only gradually beginning after 2032.

Phosphate Ore Imports and Exports Surge in August: Is the Demand Peak Season Arriving?
In August, China’s phosphate ore imports surged month-on-month (MoM), and the price center shifted upward. Total imports for the month were 116,000 mt, up 563.2% MoM, largely recovering from the extremely low base in July caused by the export ban. The average import price rebounded to US$94.6/mt, up 12.0% MoM. Egypt and Jordan together accounted for 98.3%, further intensifying source concentration. Meanwhile, after consecutive zero transactions, exports suddenly rose to 61,000 mt in August.
