Price Increase Letters Issued Successively; Titanium Dioxide Market Consolidates in Stalemate [SMM Titanium Spot Express]

Published: Sep 16, 2026 17:44
[SMM Titanium Spot Express: Price Increase Letters Issued, Titanium Dioxide Market Consolidates in Stalemate] The titanium dioxide market remains stable. Price increase letters have been issued, but actual order fulfillment is insufficient. Demand recovery is limited, and the market has restricted room for upward or downward movement, with consolidation dominating in the short term.

SMM, September 16:

SMM, September 16: The SMM titanium dioxide index was reported at 14,059 yuan/mt. Mainstream quotations for rutile titanium dioxide in the market were 12,500–14,800 yuan/mt, with an average price of 13,650 yuan/mt; quotations for anatase titanium dioxide were 12,000–13,000 yuan/mt, and for chloride-process titanium dioxide were 15,300–16,800 yuan/mt. Today, titanium dioxide prices remained flat compared with the previous working day.

Today, the titanium dioxide market continued to operate steadily. On the supply side, several enterprises successively issued price increase letters, but actual orders have not yet been fully implemented, and mainstream prices remained stable. Currently, both upside and downside room are limited: weak end-use demand suppressed the upside room for price increases, while the cost floor provided support for prices, leaving relatively small downside room. The market remained generally cautious about a positive outlook. Although orders recovered somewhat, the growth and sustainability were not enough to quickly digest inventories and drive a sustained rise in the market. In the short term, if new orders and concentrated stockpiling are released, they may boost the market, but at this stage the market is likely to maintain a fluctuating trend.
