Downstream enterprises purchase as needed and pick up goods; primary lead enterprise inventory declines as scheduled [SMM Primary Lead Inventory Weekly Review]

Published: Sep 11, 2026 16:53

It is understood that as of September 10, in-factory inventory of primary lead delivery brands stood at 9,200 mt, down 95,000 mt WoW.

Currently, primary lead smelters are mostly under maintenance. Even though some small and medium-sized enterprises resumed or ramped up production during this period, this did not lead to a notable growth trend in lead ingot supply. Meanwhile, downstream enterprises purchased as needed. Also, because prices were lower than cargoes from social warehouses, downstream enterprises preferred EXW cargoes from primary lead producers. In addition, as downstream enterprises picked up more goods, in-factory inventory at primary lead enterprises dropped sharply.
