Published: Sep 8, 2026 14:39
【SMM Rare Earth Flash】 Canadian-based Aclara Resources announced that the U.S. Export-Import Bank (EXIM) has signed a letter of interest to potentially provide up to US$750 million in financing to support the development of its Dynamo rare earth separation, metal, and alloy facility in Vinton, Louisiana. The loan carries a 15-year term and is dedicated to covering project costs. The Louisiana facility is scheduled to break ground in Q4 2026 and begin operations by mid-2028, targeting annual production of 1,131 tonnes of NdPr, 148 tonnes of Dy, and 25 tonnes of Tb. The plant will process mixed rare earth carbonate from Aclara's Carina (Brazil) and Penco (Chile) projects, with oxides to be converted into magnet alloys through a joint venture with Chilean steel producer CAP.
