LG Energy Solution Signs KRW 2 Trillion Long-Term Deal to Purchase U.S.-Made Lithium Carbonate

Bloomberg and local media in Arkansas reported on August 31 local time that LG Energy Solution signed a USD 1.5 billion contract with Smackover Lithium to receive 8,000 mt/y of battery-grade lithium carbonate over 10 years starting in 2029.

Smackover Lithium is a joint venture between Norwegian oil and gas company Equinor and Canada’s Standard Lithium.
