Viridis Mining Secures $120M in Equity for Rare Earth Project Development
Australian-listed rare earth developer Viridis Mining & Minerals (ASX:VMM) announced that it has secured up to US$120 million in equity financing commitments from global alternative investment manager OneIM, existing investors ORE Investments and Régia Capital, and a group of strategic investors. OneIM will invest US$75 million in two tranches, becoming a cornerstone institutional investor. The proceeds will be used for the Colossus project design initiation, long-lead equipment procurement, and operation of the Brazilian demonstration plant. The company has already obtained debt financing support from export credit agencies of Australia, Canada, and France. Based on the US$449 million development capital and a 70% debt/30% equity structure, the equity requirement is approximately US$135 million. With the new financing plus the company's existing US$14 million cash, confirmed equity sources total US$150 million, exceeding project requirements. The company targets a final investment decision and construction start in the fourth quarter of 2026.
