【South Korea and the U.S. Discuss Energy Cooperation Amid Growing Uncertainties】

According to Yonhap News Agency, officials from South Korea's climate and energy department stated on Monday that the two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the energy sector against the backdrop of escalating uncertainties in the global market. According to South Korea's Ministry of Climate, Energy, and Environment, Second Vice Minister Lee Ho-hyeon met with U.S. official Kirk Cochrane in Seoul, where they discussed policy measures to ensure the stability of energy supply chains and electricity supply. The ministry also stated that the two sides exchanged views on major energy security issues requiring joint responses, including ensuring grid safety amid rapidly growing electricity demand and the continuous expansion of energy storage systems. Lee Ho-hyeon remarked: "Ensuring the stability of energy supply chains and electricity supply is a pillar of a nation's industrial competitiveness. We hope that this meeting will help both countries jointly address intensifying market uncertainties and strengthen bilateral energy cooperation."

Cornex's 70GWh Xiangyang Lithium Battery Base Starts Production, Targets 400k Cells Daily

Cornex New Energy's 70GWh lithium battery industrial park in Xiangyang, Hubei officially started production on Aug 30, completing its one-headquarters-plus-four-bases layout. Construction began on Oct 28, 2025, and first products rolled off the line in just 10 months, two months ahead of schedule. Covering 1,608 mu with 1.05 million sqm of floor space, the base targets both energy storage and EV applications, mass-producing 100Ah, 588Ah, 648Ah and larger storage cells plus high-rate fast-charging power batteries. At full capacity it will ship nearly 400,000 cells daily worldwide, with annual output value expected to exceed RMB 30bn and over 5,000 jobs created.
