Jiangsu Cumulative PV Capacity Surpasses 100 GW, Becoming Province's Largest Power Source

【SMM Copper Flash News】Jiangsu’s cumulative installed photovoltaic capacity has exceeded 100 GW, reaching 100.08 GW. PV has surpassed coal-fired power, gas turbines and wind power to become the province’s largest power source, accounting for over 38% of the total installed power capacity. Jiangsu is China’s first province with PV installed capacity topping 100 GW.Distributed PV installed capacity stands at 69.29 GW, making up nearly 70% of the total and ranking first nationwide. The capacity has risen by more than 70 GW over the five years since the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan.The Implementation Plan for Distributed Photovoltaic Development in Jiangsu Province (2026-2030) has been issued. It sets targets for cumulative distributed PV installed capacity of 120 GW by 2030 and 160 GW by 2035, and advocates simultaneous promotion of village-wide contiguous development and centralized construction across industrial parks.Village-wide development pilots are underway in 48 villages across 12 prefecture-level cities including Lianyungang and Xuzhou, covering 731 households with a total installed capacity of 22 MW. State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power is pushing forward reinforcement of coastal power corridors and the Nantong-Suzhou DC project to boost grid integration and consumption capacity.
