【Maoming Sodium/Lithium Anode Project Awaits EIA Approval: 2,000t Na-ion + 2,000t Li-ion 】

On August 21, the Maoming (Guangdong) ecology and environment bureau published a proposed-approval notice (comment period August 21–28) for a carbon materials project by a local company: 50,000 tpa of liquid-crystal high-carbon materials, 2,000 tpa of sodium-ion battery anode material, 2,000 tpa of lithium-ion battery anode material and 1,000 tpa of super microporous carbon. Located in the Jinshan Economic Development Zone of Gaozhou, the project converts a dismantled fuel-oil tank farm into new production workshops, using ethylene tar, catalytic slurry and medium-temperature pitch as feedstock, with extraction-separation, thermal polycondensation, milling-granulation and carbonization units. The repurposing of oil-storage land into sodium/lithium anode carbon capacity adds another scale supply point to the sodium-ion battery anode segment.

【Huizhou 80,000 tpa Lithium Battery Anode Expansion Project Enters EIA Review】

On August 14, the Huizhou (Guangdong) ecology and environment bureau published a notice confirming it had accepted, on August 13, the EIA documents for an 80,000 tpa lithium battery anode materials expansion project, with a ten-working-day public comment period. Located in Zhenlong Town, Huiyang District, and developed by the local subsidiary of a leading Chinese anode materials producer, the project was submitted as a full EIA report. If approved, the expansion would further consolidate the Pearl River Delta's anode capacity cluster.

【Linyi (Shandong) 1.4GW Phase-I TOPCon Cell Project Completed and in Trial Run, Start-up in H2】

On August 17, a state-owned solar power operator listed in Shenzhen disclosed on the exchange's investor interaction platform that Phase I of its high-efficiency cell and module smart-manufacturing project in Pingyi, Linyi — a 1.4GW TOPCon line — has been completed and entered trial operation, with formal production planned for the second half of 2026. A key provincial project in Shandong, the site is ultimately planned at 3GW of cell capacity with supporting module lines; Phase I adopts the TOPCon 3.0 route with designed mass-production efficiency of 26.5% and a 95% yield target, with output either self-consumed by the operator's power stations or sold externally. A 10MW perovskite-silicon tandem pilot line is advancing in parallel, and together with its 5GW Zhenjiang manufacturing base, the operator's "power stations + cell & module manufacturing" dual-engine model is taking shape.
