[SMM Steel] Indonesia’s Lower Price Limit for Billet Has Been Set

Published: Aug 24, 2026 16:00
[Indonesia] Following reports that billet prices might rise, they have actually remained flat at 465 USD/metric ton FOB for November shipments. It appears the price situation is now clearer, as the billet market has not seen much movement and has established a new lower price limit. From here, export demand is expected to rise because buyers are now aware of the price level and will feel confident enough to make purchases. With strong prices in China preventing downward pressure on prices in Indonesia, and domestic demand in Indonesia also strong, export demand will gradually increase, causing prices to follow an upward trend first. However, before prices rise, buyers need to know the baseline price, and it appears that price has been set at 465 USD/metric ton FOB.
