[Solar: Tandem PV brings critical coating technology in-house]

Published: Aug 21, 2026 11:23
US perovskite-silicon solar manufacturer Tandem PV has acquired Oregon-based nexTC Corporation, bringing its thin-film metal oxide coating technology, IP and expertise in-house. nexTC specializes in solution-based transparent oxide coatings that help manage charge transport in tandem solar cells while allowing sunlight to reach the underlying silicon layer. Tandem PV said the technology is important for module efficiency, durability and manufacturability. The company recently launched a 65,000-square-foot commercial demonstration factory in Fremont with close to 40MW of annual nameplate capacity.

[Today, the market price of PV modules was basically stable]
Today, module market prices were basically stable. At the end of the week, enterprise guidance prices saw few changes. Currently, upstream and downstream enterprises were still negotiating over module prices, and price game sentiment increased. However, the rise in module prices indeed led to an increase in inventory for module enterprises, and subsequent expectations for production cuts intensified.
