[Solar: Foss closes USD 150mn Section 48E solar tax equity investment]

Published: Aug 21, 2026 11:23
Foss & Company has closed around USD 150 million in Section 48E tax equity investment for a portfolio of distributed energy projects in Illinois. The portfolio is owned by a joint venture between Summit Ridge Energy and Apollo Global Management and includes community solar projects eligible for Domestic Content, Energy Community and Low-Income tax credit adders. The transaction is among the first announced tax equity deals under the new Section 48E Clean Electricity Investment Tax Credit framework and involved FEOC-related compliance requirements. SMM believes US community solar financing is adapting to the new tax credit system, with domestic content and low-income adders continuing to shape project returns and capital appeal.
