[ US Issues Final Antidumping Duties on Vietnamese Rebar ]

Published: Aug 17, 2026 11:30
The US Department of Commerce finalized an affirmative antidumping duty on steel concrete reinforcing bar imported from Vietnam, ruling that the products were sold below fair market value. The agency applied a 128.53% weighted-average dumping margin against the Hoa Phat group and a 136.57% margin for the Vietnam-Wide Entity. The prohibitive tariffs aim to shield domestic steel mills from unfairly priced Southeast Asian long product imports.

[ EU ETS Revisions May Delay Full Carbon Costs for Turkish Steel Exporters ]
The European Commission is proposing a timeline extension for the phase-in of its Emissions Trading System (ETS) free allowance reductions, pushing the full carbon cost integration out to 2038. This regulatory revision would significantly moderate the near-term compliance costs imposed by the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). Turkish steel and aluminum exporters would benefit from a more gradual phase-in, protecting their price competitiveness within the European market over the next decade.
