[SMM Rare Earth News] According to foreign media reports, Malaysia and Australia recently agreed to strengthen cooperation on rare earths and critical minerals and to explore developing NdFeB magnet manufacturing capabilities in Malaysia. The Malaysian side said it would leverage Australia's technological strengths to improve the rare earth value chain and strengthen cooperation on rare earth processing scrap management. Australia's Lynas already operates a rare earth processing plant in Kuantan, Malaysia, and cooperation between the two sides is expected to extend further downstream into the magnetic materials sector.
