Fed Officials Diverge on Rate Hikes, Hawkish Tone Pressures Precious Metals

[SMM Precious Metal Express] Fed officials delivered mixed signals: Hammack reiterated the need for rate hikes now and expressed uncertainty over continued inflation improvement; Barkin suggested rate hikes may be needed to achieve Fed goals — both leaning hawkish. Goolsbee, however, noted that much of the inflation is tariff- and oil-driven, hoping for one-off effects — a more dovish stance. While internal divisions widen, the hawkish tone continues to weigh on precious metals in the near term.
