Chilean Miner Antofagasta Reports 27% Rise in H1 Core Profit, Lowers 2026 Copper Production Outlook
Chilean miner Antofagasta plc reported its H1 results on Thursday. Benefiting from higher prices for copper, a key metal for the energy transition, which offset the negative impact of lower production, core profit rose 27% YoY. However, affected by a production halt at one of its mines, the company lowered its 2026 copper production expectations.The company's H1 earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) rose to $2.84 billion from $2.23 billion in the same period last year.
