SMM, August 13:
This week, electrolyte market prices remained stable. Among them, average prices of electrolytes for ternary power batteries, LFP batteries, and LMO batteries were 31,750 yuan/mt, 31,200 yuan/mt, and 23,550 yuan/mt, respectively. Cost side, LiPF6 prices remained stable this week. On the one hand, upstream lithium carbonate futures consolidated within a narrow range, so cost fluctuations were relatively small; on the other hand, the concentrated order-signing phase in the market ended and market trading sentiment cooled, which allowed LiPF6 prices to stabilize in the short term. In the additives segment, VC orders this month have been largely finalized and are currently in the delivery cycle; combined with tight supply, most producers are not quoting prices for the time being. If there is still no significant effective supply growth in the short term, the tight supply-demand situation is expected to intensify further with demand support, and subsequent price-increase momentum is strong. Affected by the temporary stability of upstream raw materials, electrolyte market prices remained stable. Supply-demand side, downstream power battery enterprises were actively stockpiling for the traditional "September-October peak season," while high demand momentum in the energy storage market continued. Together, these factors drove steady improvement in battery cell operating rates and output levels. Electrolyte side, producers generally adopt a produce-based-on-sales model; as downstream orders increased, the industry's operating rate also rose. Overall, the future market price trend of electrolyte still needs to be continuously tracked, along with raw material price fluctuations and their transmission.
