China's Passenger Vehicle Exports Up 87.8% YoY in July

Data released by the CPCA showed that passenger vehicle exports reached 918,000 units in July, up 87.8% YoY. Retail sales in China's nationwide passenger vehicle market totaled 1.461 million units in July, down 20.9% YoY and down 8.8% MoM. CPCA Secretary General Cui Dongshu analyzed that the July auto market weakness was a phase-specific structural fluctuation rather than a deterioration in the industry trend. On the one hand, the July heat and off-season suppressed offline store foot traffic, and the June half-year sales push pulled forward market demand; end-user orders and foot traffic pulled back in tandem.
