JSW Steel’s consolidated crude steel production rose 3% year on year to 2.402 million tonnes in July 2026, while output from its Indian operations increased 4% to 2.339 million tonnes. India’s JSW Steel produced 2.402 million tonnes of crude steel in July 2026, up 3% year on year, according to a company filing with the National Stock Exchange of India on August 10.
Crude steel production from the company’s Indian operations increased 4% year on year to 2.339 million tonnes from 2.255 million tonnes in July 2025. Capacity utilisation at its Indian operations stood at 87% during the month.
Meanwhile, JSW Steel USA’s Ohio operations produced 63,000 tonnes of crude steel, down 13% from 72,000 tonnes a year earlier. This brought consolidated production to 2.402 million tonnes, compared with 2.327 million tonnes in July 2025.
The company said Blast Furnace No. 3 (BF3) at its Vijayanagar works was ramping up following its restart on June 23 and was operating at more than 80% of its rated capacity at the time of the announcement.
The BF3 ramp-up is significant for JSW Steel’s production outlook after the furnace underwent a capacity upgrade. The company currently has combined crude steel capacity of 37.9 million tonnes/year, including 4.5 million tonnes/year through the JSW JFE Steel joint venture, and plans to increase combined capacity to 54.8 million tonnes/year over the next four years.

Last week, the mine-mouth price of 64% grade alkaline powder on dry basis tax-included acceptance reported by Shandong miners was 788 yuan, down 14 yuan; steel mills made corresponding reductions; miners mostly maintained normal production, steel mills were quite active in purchasing, most miners had no inventory, and shipments from small plants and traders also improved. Looking at this week, ample supply of imported ore constrained ore prices; in the Linyi market, some miners signed weekly contracts at the beginning of the week, and traders were active in purchasing.
