In North China, spot #1 copper cathode against the front-month contract reported average discounts ranging from 180 yuan/mt to 120 yuan/mt, with the average discount at 150 yuan/mt (down 85 yuan/mt from the previous trading day) and the average transaction price at 108,200 yuan/mt (up 285 yuan/mt from the previous trading day); copper prices continued to shoot up, with downstream purchasing sentiment showing no improvement and the market overall remaining on the sidelines; supplier willingness to sell was basically flat, but actual selling met with significant resistance, leading to sluggish market trading and driving spot discounts in North China to widen further. The procurement sentiment for copper cathode in North China stood at 1.02, unchanged from the previous trading day, while the selling sentiment was 2.99, up 0.01. ().
