US Bans Tungsten Scrap, Battery Material Exports to Strengthen Domestic Supply Chains

[SMM Tungsten Express} The US will ban exports of tungsten scrap and recycled battery materials from later this month, with the restriction lasting one year. Under a rule published in the Federal Register, tungsten scrap and lithium-ion battery recycling "black mass" will be required to be sold domestically, with companies eligible to apply for exemptions. The measure is implemented under the Defense Production Act to strengthen domestic supply chains and reduce foreign dependence.

[Tungsten Flash] SMM, August 5: A tungsten enterprise in Chongyi released its long-term contracts for the first half of August, with 55% wolframite concentrates contracted at 412,000 yuan/standard tonne (65%WO3 basis), 55% scheelite concentrates at 411,000 yuan/standard tonne (65%WO3 basis), and ore long-term contract prices raised by 1,000 yuan/standard tonne compared to the second half of July. APT (grade zero, national standard) long-term contract was executed at 606,000 yuan/mt, up 1,000 yuan/mt from the second half of July.
